Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking an Activities Assistant in Washington, DC, for its Sibley Memorial Hospital Memory Care unit. Join a team that designs engaging, person-centered programs and supports residents’ independence.

You will lead activities, supervise volunteers, and use devices to connect residents with technology, ensuring communication and wellbeing across daily routines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and policies relevant to the role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement person-centered activity programs to engage residents.
• Create and manage weekly and monthly activity schedules to promote independence.
• Evaluate programs to reflect residents’ backgrounds, abilities, and interests.
• Provide one-to-one activities for residents who opt out of group activities.
• Supervise volunteers for in-house activities and community outings.
