Atria Senior Living – Hillcrest in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking an Activities/Leisure Program staff member to lead engaging Life Guidance programs for residents and plan diverse recreational activities with appropriate supervision. This role focuses on enriching daily living through person-centered activities that support well-being.

The position requires knowledge of recreational therapy methods, ability to work varying shifts, and state-certified qualifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of recreational therapy methods and their application to activities for residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
• Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Certification(s) as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Life Guidance programs and develop service plans.
• Provide diverse recreational activities with supervision as needed.
• Involve Life Guidance staff in daily program planning and activities of daily living.
• Plan birthday celebrations and resident events.
• Develop programs for residents, including those confined to rooms.
• Engage and motivate residents to participate in programs.
• Greet new residents and help integrate them into community activities.
• Assist in planning events and seasonal decorations throughout the year.
• Support census-building initiatives and maintain activity records as required by state law.
• Coordinate with volunteers to support activity programs.
