Job summary

Superluminal Medicines is seeking a Scientist to drive membrane protein production for GPCRs to support structural biology, biophysics, and drug discovery. This hands-on role requires leadership in protein expression and purification with opportunities to shape the platform.

The candidate should have advanced degrees with substantial experience in membrane protein biochemistry, cloning, and purification, including experience with Cryo-EM workflows.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics or related field with 8+ years experience; or advanced degree with reduced experience.
  • 2+ years in biotech/pharma industry and molecular biology experience.
  • Experience with cloning, construct design, and mutagenesis.
  • Experience with protein stabilization approaches (antibody fragments, fusion partners, mutagenesis).

Responsibilities

  • Design, produce and optimize membrane protein constructs for GPCRs.
  • Develop high-throughput expression and purification workflows for Cryo-EM readiness.
  • Collaborate across pharmacology, structural biology and medicinal chemistry teams.
  • Serve as SME on membrane protein expression and evaluate new technologies.
  • Document experiments in ELN and present data to teams.
