POSITION SUMMARY

The Membership Project Coordinator is responsible for executing fundraising and membership marketing campaigns via direct mail, email, digital, and social media. The goal for this position is to build member engagement, improve the member experience, and ultimately improve membership retention and donations to support a larger, more engaged TU. The Membership Project Coordinator also oversees cultivation emails, premium purchases and collaborates with the Associate Director, Membership Marketing Strategy to ensure all messages are integrated with the member/supporter lifecycle. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in direct response fundraising. The position is based in Arlington, Virginia, and will allow for 75-80% work from home.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Execute renewal, acquisition and fundraising appeals using direct-mail, email, digital marketing, and online forms.
  2. Assist in membership and fundraising reporting.
  3. Manage direct marketing message schedules to ensure strict adherence to dates.
  4. Work with printers and mailers to produce direct mail solicitations by providing copy, art, lists and proof approvals.
  5. Collaborate with email team to provide lists, copy, links and creative for all email solicitations.
  6. Coordinate with web team to create donation, membership, lead and renewal forms.
  7. Work with the social media team to execute posts that support our acquisition, renewal and donation campaigns.
  8. Ensure accurate data for all solicitations.
  9. Ensure correspondence data is loaded into databases for reporting and tracking purposes.
  10. Review and assist in data hygiene processes and facilitate data transfers to vendors.
  11. Provide proofreading and testing support as needed.
  12. Review pricing/bids and print/mail purchase orders. Submit related invoices to financial system.
  13. Help manage premium inventory.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  2. Ability to think strategically, tactically, and creatively.
  3. Ability to problem solve and refine systems to increase efficiency and productivity.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to project manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and multi-task.
  6. A passion for conservation and/or fishing is highly desired but not required.
  7. Ability to work independently or as a team cross departmentally.
  8. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  9. Knowledge of direct marketing, email, direct mail, and digital advertising.
  10. Knowledge of non-profit marketing best practices.
  11. Knowledge of membership databases, inventory management systems, email tools (Higher Logic), web analytics tools (ex. Google Analytics), Google AdWords, SurveyMonkey, and Microsoft Office. Experience with netFORUM database is a plus.
