Job summary

The JCC of Stamford is hiring a Membership Specialist to drive membership growth, engage current members, and supervise front desk operations on site in Stamford, CT. You will build relationships, run tours, and manage renewals as part of a high-energy team.

Responsibilities include generating leads, onboarding new members, coaching staff, and resolving member concerns while ensuring accurate member records and a positive member experience.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of sales or retail experience with a record of meeting goals.
• Excellent communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or database systems.
• Comfort with incentive-based compensation.
• Sales experience in a membership organization such as a JCC, YMCA or health club.
• Experience supervising front desk, retail or customer service staff.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including building tours, and to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Full-time schedule that includes early mornings and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Generate leads, give tours and sell new memberships.
• Onboard new members and run renewal and retention outreach.
• Supervise front desk staff onsite, including daily assignments, shift coverage, training and coaching.
• Make recommendations to Membership leadership on front desk hiring, scheduling and performance.
• Resolve member concerns and escalations.
• Cover the welcome desk during absences and peak periods.
• Keep member records accurate in the membership system.
