Job summary

NACD is seeking a Manager, Membership for our Arlington, VA area in a hybrid role. You will lead a sales and member engagement team, own revenue targets, and drive retention and renewals across a defined market segment.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales/account management, coaching, and a deep interest in corporate governance. You will partner with cross-functional teams to enhance member value and onboard new hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least five years in sales, account management, or a consultative role with proven results.
• Strong interest in corporate governance and board leadership; exceptional communication and relationship-building.
• Experience coaching and motivating high-performing teams; proficient in Microsoft Suite; Salesforce or other CRMs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support sales and member engagement (customer success) team.
• Own revenue performance for an assigned market segment, including new business acquisition, onboarding, engagement, expansion, and renewal.
• Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and quota attainment across the segment.
• Oversee customer success strategy to ensure retention, adoption, renewal, and member value outcomes.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of NACD’s governance products and member benefits to support the team.
• Partner cross-departmentally to enhance membership value and segment-specific services.
• Recruit and onboard across sales and engagement to ramp new hires.
• Coach, develop, and performance manage team members.
