Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Membership Director to lead sales, onboarding, retention and community engagement initiatives. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with members and community partners, representing the YMCA in public events, and driving enrollment and program participation.

The position requires leadership in recruitment, training, and performance management of Membership Sales staff, with a focus on achieving membership goals and fostering a member-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3 years supervisory experience in customer service, wellness or similar field.
• Prior experience in sales preferably membership sales.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication; Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, members, and participants.
• Ability to multi-task, and make sound independent judgments.

Responsibilities

• Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs Membership Sales personnel and volunteers as needed.
• Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
• Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
• Participates in the annual campaign and attends staff meetings and trainings.
