Job summary

The YMCA of Greensboro is seeking a Membership Director to lead all aspects of branch membership, including recruiting new members, retaining current members, and supervising staff to drive growth. This role supports the Y's mission to strengthen the community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility while upholding core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
• Ability to manage staff, resolve conflicts, coach others, and work in a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Implements membership strategies for recruitment and retention; fosters member-focused culture.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and directs personnel and volunteers; reviews staff performance.
• Promotes program and membership enrollment; coordinates registration and supports marketing efforts.
• Participates in annual Membership budget planning and manages the approved budget.
• Ensures proper front desk procedures and communicates changes to staff.
• Organizes membership events and represents the Y at community events.
• Leads assigned aspects of the fund-raising campaign.
• Participates in staff meetings and required meetings.
