Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a Program Director to lead financial development, budgeting, and program growth. You will supervise staff, develop marketing plans with cross-department collaboration, and ensure health and safety compliance across programs.

The role emphasizes staff development, volunteer engagement, and delivering high-quality community services in a busy YMCA branch environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required or related work experience may offset degree requirement.
2+ years previous work experience in related field.
Childcare Program Director must meet Site Supervisor requirements.
Aquatics Program Director must meet Lifeguard requirements.
Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance.
Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
Complete all required Branch and Position-specific trainings within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Accountable for financial development including budgeting and growth targets.
Manage financial controls: registration, grants and contracts, vendor relations, accounts payable/receivable.
Develop and implement marketing plans for department growth with the Marketing Department.
Ensure health and safety policies; conduct risk assessments and address deficiencies.
Serve on the branch safety team and respond to emergencies as needed.
Oversee staff: hiring, scheduling, performance coaching, trainings.
