Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast seeks a Membership Trainee to deliver outstanding customer service, greet guests, and assist with membership changes. The role supports relationship-building and contributes to member engagement.

The Trainee will work toward the Member Specialist I requirements within 60 days, supporting tour follow-ups, program inquiries, and front-desk operations in a welcoming YMCA environment.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Type at least 30 wpm and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to perform data entry and organizational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Within 60 days, complete all requirements of the Member Specialist I position.
• Welcome desk: assist members, receipting, enter payments, make photo IDs.
• Conduct facility tours and follow-ups; assist with memberships and program info.
• Handle member inquiries by phone; assist with program registrations in Active.
• Perform clerical duties and support retention activities; help with data audits.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and report suspicious activity as needed.
