Job summary

Gary YMCA in Gary, IN is seeking a Membership Leader to oversee the Membership Department and guide a high-performing team. You will recruit, onboard, and coach staff, design strategies to attract new members, and create exceptional member experiences that align with the YMCA mission.

You will manage tours, engagement efforts, and cross-department collaboration, reporting on metrics and budgets while fostering a welcoming culture for all.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent leadership experience.
• 3+ years leading membership, hospitality, or customer-service teams.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Membership Department.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and coach the Member Relations team.
• Develop membership recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
• Ensure welcoming tours and connections to programs and services.
• Monitor performance metrics and manage scheduling and payroll.
