Job summary

The Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce is seeking a part-time Membership Coordinator to manage the member lifecycle, onboarding, engagement, renewals, and data records. This remote, 1099 contract role requires independence, strong communication, and a focus on inclusivity for LGBT+ and allied businesses in the Upstate region.

You will serve as the primary contact for membership questions, monitor expirations, maintain CRM records, and support billing and revenue efforts.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in membership services or nonprofit operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with a warm, professional approach.
• Experience using a CRM, membership database, or billing platform.
• Ability to review membership and revenue data and summarize for leadership.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with board members, volunteers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage member lifecycle from inquiry through onboarding, engagement, renewal, and reactivation.
• Serve as primary contact for membership questions via phone and email.
• Monitor expirations and perform outreach to encourage renewals and retention.
• Maintain member and prospect records in GrowthZone or similar CRM; manage directory data.
• Create and monitor invoices, track payments, and maintain billing records.
• Support revenue initiatives by identifying opportunities and coordinating outreach.
• Monitor inbox and route inquiries to correct board member or owner.
• Compile membership metrics for leadership review (acquisition, renewals, attrition, revenue).
• Track board tasks and support event and communication activities.
• Assist with onboarding, communications, events, and intern guidance.
