The YMCA of West Bend is seeking a Welcome Desk Staff to provide courteous, caring service to members and guests, and to recruit, retrain, and engage members through accurate customer service.

Under the direction of the Membership Manager, you will register members, handle payments, balance end-of-shift reports, and uphold YMCA policies while fostering a welcoming environment in the West Bend branch.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred/required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, multitasking, problem-solving and customer service skills.
• General clerical skills, including computer proficiency, phone operations, and cash handling.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, caring, and quality service to members, guests, and program participants.
• Interview and/or tour prospective members; sell memberships.
• Build relationships with members and help connect them with the YMCA.
• Handle and resolve membership concerns; inform supervisor of unusual situations.
• Register for membership and programs; collect payment and verify information.
• Enter transactions; balance end of shifts; report discrepancies.
• Uphold YMCA policies and core values in all situations.
• Hand out locker keys and towels; monitor locker rooms as needed.
• Answer telephone; provide information and take messages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
