Job summary

Homer Electric Association in Kenai, Alaska is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Member Support Representative to be the first point of contact for members, handling billing and account inquiries and providing information on services and tariffs.

This full-time, onsite role is based in Kenai and offers a regular Monday–Friday schedule, with a strong emphasis on courteous, accurate service and community-focused customer care.

Qualifications

• Two years of college level, or formal business education; in lieu of degree, four years of additional experience.
• Two years of progressively responsible customer service experience.
• Must submit a valid Alaska Driver's license within 90 days of hire date, and maintain a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Accept and process applications either over the phone, in person or electronically for new and changed membership for electric service, initiate action on member connects, reconnects, change in service and disconnect service orders.
• Answer member inquiries regarding billing and collections and prepare accurate information for account corrections as needed.
• Resolve billing and service complaints and refer grievances to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform or assist in the duties of the call center, cashier, bank deposit preparations and/or receptionist and back-office functions, as assigned.
• Promote new or additional utility services or programs and encourages safe, efficient use of electricity
