Job summary

WESTconsin Credit Union is seeking a Collections Specialist to support member accounts and resolve delinquent balances. You will monitor accounts, apply payments, negotiate payment arrangements, and coordinate with attorneys as needed.

You’ll gather member financial histories, assess credit data, and discuss options such as deferral, loan modification, or forbearance. The role emphasizes member service in a collaborative, community-focused culture with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 2 years of related work experience required.
• Prior experience in the financial/collections field preferred.
• Ability to multitask & prioritize work tasks while providing exceptional member service.

Responsibilities

• Contacts and follows-up with members and arranges appropriate action for resolution of accounts not in good standing; including, negative shares, delinquent loans, or suspected fraud
• Gathers and assesses relevant information about the member(s), business, or personal business’s financial and credit history
• Discusses options with members such as deferral, loan modifications, and forbearance.
• Recommends credit counseling as necessary
• Communicates effectively with members, employees and external contacts
