Job summary

The American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philadelphia seeks a friendly, organized part-time Visitor Services & Membership Assistant to support daily operations and frontline services. You will engage visitors, promote memberships, and help run the front desk with a focus on accuracy and customer care.

Responsibilities include maintaining membership records, generating reports, and assisting with outreach efforts to grow engagement. Prior museum experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, including using a point-of-sale system.
• Experience in arts and cultural institutions is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Experience with database management preferred.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent GED required.
• Proven ability to meet regular deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily visitor services at ASHM and ensure a consistently outstanding visitor experience.
• Engage the public to provide an educational, safe, and memorable museum experience.
• Assist with membership sales and maintain accurate records of membership and donations in the database.
• Generate reports and communication mailings from the database and support outreach efforts.
