Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union is seeking a dedicated Member Services Officer to assist and approve members across consumer lending, account maintenance, and various services. The role requires strong communication, independence, and teamwork within a collaborative credit union environment.

The incumbent will handle in-person, phone, and digital member interactions, maintain confidentiality, and comply with policies.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred – Bachelor’s degree, or Certified Credit Union Executive Certification, or Associate of Arts/Science via NC-CTP.
• Must possess aptitude for meeting people and developing member confidence, respect, and trust in Credit Union.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be self-motivated and dependable.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and use good judgment.
• Must be an active listener and communicator.
• Minimum of 2 years directly related experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist members in a courteous, professional, and timely manner through all service channels.
• Process transactions and member requests in the appropriate system.
• Open and maintain accounts, and process wire transfers and other services.
• Provide basic financial guidance and referrals to relevant departments.
• Assist with Notary Public services as requested by management.
