Job summary

First Financial Federal Credit Union in New Jersey seeks a full-time, in-office Member Service Associate to handle calls and online inquiries, resolve issues, and promote banking products. You will maintain member records, assist with payroll/direct deposit, and provide support for online banking and ATMs.

The role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and a strong customer-service mindset in a fast-paced environment. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• HS/GED and 2 yrs related experience in banking preferred.
• Superior customer service and listening skills.
• Ability to multi-task – answer calls and respond to internet messages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills – able to learn new programs/systems.
• Team oriented - contributes to building a positive team spirit.
• Experience with banking products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle large volume of inbound and outbound calls and transfer sale leads to the appropriate staff.
• Answer inquiries by clarifying desired information; researching, locating and providing information.
• Resolves problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring solutions, implementing solutions, and escalating unresolved problems to management.
• Evaluate needs of members and offer appropriate financial products and services.
• Seize the opportunity to sell additional services by recognizing member needs and explaining features.
• Assist members in setting up distributions of payroll and direct deposit via mail.
• Maintain member database by updating all information.
• Assist members with online banking issues and escalate as needed.
• Process all mail.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
