Job summary

Self-Help is seeking a Member Service Representative to engage with members, process transactions, and promote credit union services. The role emphasizes accuracy, security, and excellent customer service within a nonprofit financial organization.

The position may require bilingual communication (English/Spanish) and flexibility to cover evenings or weekends as needed, with a competitive nonprofit compensation package and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or customer service preferred.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate credit union systems and proprietary software (New Solutions, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess member needs through conversations.
• Provide excellent member service and maintain relationships.
• Process deposits, loan payments, and account transfers accurately and timely.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure accuracy/compliance.
• Promote credit union products and services to members.
• Maintain security controls and protect sensitive information.
