Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking a part-time Member Services Assistant to support member inquiries, tours, and membership sales. The role emphasizes delivering excellent service in person and over the phone, building community ties, and upholding YMCA policies.

The position requires CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire, plus strong interpersonal skills and basic computer knowledge. Weekdays 7am–4pm and Saturdays 8am–12pm are the hours.

Qualifications

• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Other tasks as assigned.
