Job summary

Downey Federal Credit Union is seeking a Universal Associate to serve as a liaison between members and the credit union in both in-branch and call center settings. You will open new memberships, process account openings, and assist with consumer loan applications, including disbursing loan proceeds.

You will respond to member inquiries, verify documentation, and promote the credit union's products and services while maintaining compliance with banking regulations.

Qualifications

• Bonding must be obtainable.
• Basic accounting principles understanding.
• Ability to use office machines and basic EDP concepts.
• Strong communication in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-branch Universal Associate or Contact Center Representative duties.
• Open new memberships and individual accounts; process loan applications.
• Explain loan terms and obtain signatures; disburse loan proceeds.
• Respond to member inquiries through all channels.
• Promote credit union products and services to members.
• Maintain compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC requirements.
• Notary public duties as needed.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account maintenance.
