Job summary

Sam's Club Florence, SC is seeking an Optician in Charge to deliver exceptional member service in the Optical department. You will verify prescriptions, measure pupillary distance, assist with eyewear orders, and maintain inventory in accordance with company policies.

You will handle POS transactions, coordinate with labs and optometrists, and ensure compliance with state licensure and ABO/NCLE certifications while supporting a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• As required by state regulations, registers and maintains Optician in Charge status.
• Maintains active state licensure and/or registration.
• Maintains active ABO and NCLE certifications.
• Familiarity with CE requirements for state licensure/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides member service by acknowledging members and assisting with purchases.
• Educates members on eyewear usage, care, and contact lens handling.
• Meets prescription information, measures pupillary distance, and verifies frames and lenses.
• Processes optical orders and coordinates with labs and optometrists.
• Operates POS systems for payments, returns, and exchanges.
