Job summary

ABNB Federal Credit Union is hiring a Collections Clerk in Chesapeake, VA to maintain correspondence, files, and records, and to support the collections team with data retrieval and reporting. The role involves processing insurance policies, payments, and disbursements, with emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years' related experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to operate a PC and other office equipment with speed and accuracy.
• Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Process collateral protection insurance policies and claims.
• Process all third-party billings, payments from remarketing companies, and other payments received; disburse funds from members’ accounts for financial counseling to pay accounts.
• Research, process, and report all Credit Bureau disputes in a timely manner.
• Retrieves files, both paper and optical, for the Collection Department; Periodically purges files from the Collection Department's files to be returned to Central Files for documents to be scanned.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
