Job summary

Texas Bay Credit Union seeks a Teller to serve members with accurate, friendly transactions in a fast-paced environment. You will handle deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and more while safeguarding cash and confidential information.

You will educate members on credit union products, balance drawers daily, and back up teammates as needed, while adhering to OFAC and internal policies. This role is essential to delivering exceptional member experiences.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• 1–12 months of similar or related experience.
• Completion of required training courses.
• Proficient in MS Office and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous service to members, greeting each member with eye contact and a smile, and maintaining confidentiality of member accounts.
• Process a full range of transactions: deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, loan payments, transfers, open-end loan draws, credit card cash advances and credits payments.
• Balance cash drawer with system totals daily and maintain security of the cash drawer and teller number.
• Examine checks for completeness and proper endorsement; validate identification and membership during each transaction.
• Sell money orders, official checks, and other merchandise.
• Handle Safe Deposit Box access according to procedures, if applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of TBCU products, services, and promotions; follow updated policies and procedures including OFAC.
• Educate members on products/services to benefit their financial journey; document referrals and follow up.
• Participate in the Performance Reward Program.
• Support credit union teams and back up coworkers as needed.
