Job summary

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is seeking a Membership and Wellness Coordinator to support membership operations, member engagement, and wellness programming at Y facilities. You will help create a welcoming member experience and assist with membership sales, renewals, and program registrations.

Under the direction of the Membership and Wellness Director, you will coordinate wellness activities, supervise front desk operations, and provide staff support, training, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• At least two years of customer service experience.
• Experience supporting wellness, fitness, recreation, or related programs.
• Experience training, leading, or coordinating staff or volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist members, guests, and program participants.
• Respond to questions, concerns, and service requests.
• Provide information about membership options, programs, services, and financial assistance programs.
• Connect members with available YMCA resources and programs.
• Support member retention efforts and engagement activities.
• Assist with branch events and member outreach initiatives.
• Conduct and support facility tours for prospective members.
• Support membership sales, renewals, and retention efforts.
• Track membership inquiries and interactions in designated systems.
• Respond to phone calls, emails, and other membership-related communications.
• Monitor progress toward branch membership goals.
• Coordinate and support health and wellness programs and services.
• Schedule wellness activities, classes, and reservable services.
• Assist with program logistics, staffing, and equipment needs.
• Monitor program participation and recommend improvements when appropriate.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and development of membership and wellness staff.
• Conduct observations and provide feedback as assigned.
• Facilitate staff meetings and related communications.
• Prepare staff schedules and maintain adequate coverage.
• Review and approve staff timecards in accordance with payroll deadlines.
• Process memberships, program registrations, and payments.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and program documentation.
• Manage facility check-in procedures and member access.
• Maintain knowledge of YMCA programs, services, and schedules.
