Job summary

Excel Fitness in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Team Player to support daily gym operations, member service, and facility maintenance. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist members with app usage, and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification and AED Certification required before working alone; CPR/AED training offered within 30 days if not certified.
• Comfortable standing for long periods.
• Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Team-oriented, motivated and well-organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and using a computer.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Familiar with Excel’s mission, values and Planet Fitness brand and operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform to your best abilities during your assigned work shift.
• Monitor and maintain club cleanliness and atmosphere.
• Stay proficient in Planet Fitness mobile app use, content, and updates.
• Ensure that all proper training has been completed to operate safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the club is presentable and up to Excel standards.
• Perform club walkarounds and complete assigned cleaning or related tasks, then re-inspect.
• Audit and balance cash drawers daily.
• Input and update member information into tablets and POS.
• Ensure members adhere to company policies and guidelines and address infractions.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all members.
• Communicate with members and deliver high levels of member service.
• Stock retail and janitorial items for the next shift.
• Understand and adhere to company standards and help resolve day-to-day member issues.
• Audit club inventory and coordinate with GM, AM, and Shift Lead on inventory orders.
• Stay up to date on required certifications and training.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Communicate with, promote, tour, and assist prospects and potential members.
• Assist the GM and AM with membership promotions, training, and implementation of operational strategies.
• Ensure club compliance with state/federal laws and insurance requirements.
• Operate and assist members with equipment, tanning, HydroMassage, Total Body Enhancement, and other amenities while following procedures.
• Assist GM and represent Excel Fitness at community events and outreach.
