Job summary

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a Part-Time Member Experience Representative at the Statesville Family YMCA in Statesville, NC. The role focuses on increasing member engagement, growth and retention, delivering excellent service to members, guests and program participants, and supporting administrative tasks related to membership.

Ideal candidates bring strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to work evenings and weekends, and a welcoming, friendly presence

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination preferred.
• Computer skills and the ability to learn membership software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Outgoing personality and a desire to help others; must be able to stand for the majority of shift.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• YMCA training and certifications as applicable.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist members, guests, and staff professionally.
• Conduct tours and explain benefits of membership and YMCA services.
• Use Listen-First approach to connect members with staff and programs.
• Schedule new members for orientation sessions with wellness staff.
• Process new member IDs, guest passes, and service registrations.
• Respond to phone inquiries following YMCA practices.
