Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a Welcome Center Associate for our new West Essex YMCA location opening December 2026. The part-time role focuses on greeting members, answering inquiries, selling memberships, handling transactions, and supporting branch operations with a service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities include evening and weekend shifts, promoting programs, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; associate degree a plus.
• Minimum of one year experience in customer service and/or sales.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Very organized and detail-oriented.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs; ActiveNet knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests professionally and cordially; respond to inquiries.
• Answer the telephone within 3 rings and provide facility/program information.
• Promote, sell, and register memberships, events, and programs.
• Handle money transactions and maintain documentation.
• Ensure a high level of service and align with YMCA policies.
