Job summary

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles is seeking a Manager, Member Experience to design and implement a broad portfolio of membership events that attract new audiences and deepen engagement. You will collaborate across departments to produce programs that highlight the power of art and storytelling, while supporting member services and store initiatives.

The role requires 5–7+ years of events experience, strong communication, budget management, and familiarity with donor databases

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience managing and executing events.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including staff, educators, funders, sponsors, and members.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing budgets.
• Familiarity with donor databases; Tessitura preferred.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of a portfolio of membership programs with high-quality experiences.
• Build programs that attract new audiences and spark discussions.
• Design and implement a wide variety of event programming to deepen member engagement and loyalty.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Special Events, Curatorial, Marketing, Visitor Services) to connect audiences to the museum’s collection and mission.
• Assess and benchmark member benefits; advise on pricing and new offerings to grow loyalty.
• Present and lead programs with members during weekends and evenings as needed.
• Manage event budgets and allocate resources across year planning.
• Cultivate partners and programming relationships to grow popularity and word of mouth.
• Ensure fulfillment schedules align with promised member benefits.
• Develop and activate member touchpoints such as welcome packaging and exclusive Store offerings.
• Assist in handling escalated member service issues via email, in person, and phone.
