Job summary

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Manager, Special Events to lead the museum’s internal and external event portfolio, including fundraising and openings. You will collaborate across teams and with partners to plan and execute high-profile events.

You will manage contracts, COIs, and budgets while driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, exhibitions openings, and community programs in a dynamic cultural setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of event management experience, ideally in museums or cultural institutions.
  • Strong project management, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned event portfolio and support larger events.
  • Act as expert in the Museum’s event spaces and ensure outstanding service.
  • Manage venue calendar, budgets, and COIs; track payments.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners.
  • Develop and distribute event memos to communicate activity.
  • Drive revenue through sales and partnerships with Director, Event Sales.
