Job summary

Seattle YMCA is seeking dependable leaders to develop and guide our Member Engagement staff on-site. You will oversee hiring, training, scheduling of staff and volunteers, and help run staff meetings while building strong relationships with members and connecting them to programs that help them reach goals.

You will support front desk operations, ensure smooth enrollment and cash handling, and model the YMCA core values in daily work.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of relevant work experience (sales, retail, reception, customer service, etc.).
• Two or more years staff supervision experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional customer service skills, responding to multiple questions via phone, email and in person.
• Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
• Ability to manage the member engagement recruitment process, including membership tours, interviews and sales.
• Strong computer skills and experience working with and database software, word processing, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by exceeding member expectations and greeting members and guests as they enter and leave.
• Engage with members to understand goals and interests and ensure a positive experience.
• Provide accurate information about membership and programs.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation and supervision of staff and volunteers.
• Ensure tours and enrollment procedures are in place.
• Improve front desk services and member relations and program registration.
• Deliver sales and customer service training for desk staff.
