Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union seeks a Member Service Specialist II at the Paso Robles Branch. This non-exempt role handles daily transactions, assists members with products, and delivers trusted financial guidance to address needs and opportunities.

You'll build relationships, maintain cash controls, and participate in branch operations while promoting Golden 1 services and complying with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years year of prior experience in a cash handling service oriented role required.
• 6+ months as a Member Service Specialist I or teller role at Golden 1 or another financial institution preferred

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
• Provide Golden 1 services such as cashier’s checks, money orders, savings bonds, wire transfers, and debit card issuance.
• Assess members' needs while processing transactions.
• Identify opportunities to help members with Golden 1 products/services and document in EnAct system.
• Identify and report fraudulent activity per procedures to prevent losses.
• Assist in ATM/Teller Cash Dispenser operation and maintenance.
• Assist MSS III+ with open/close responsibilities as needed.
• Activate alarms.
• Verify signature cards in ECM.
• Check acceptance approval within assigned limits.
• Ensure confidentiality of member and credit union information.
• Maintain knowledge of all Golden 1 products, services, policies, and teller procedures.
• Perform other branch operations tasks (TCR, SBO, Safe deposit box) as needed.
• Open deposit and specialty accounts (e.g., Roth IRA) and identify financial service needs.
• Mentor and advise MSSIs.
• Engage in consultative dialogue with members and document in EnAct.
• Enroll members in channels (online, mobile, etc.).
• Refer lending needs to MSS III and/or business partner.
• Maintain understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance
