Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a Member Service Specialist II in Vallejo, CA. This non-exempt role reports to the Associate Branch Manager and works in the Vallejo Branch.

The position handles deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and various transactions while delivering personalized financial guidance to members. You will open deposits and specialty accounts, promote Golden 1 products, and ensure AML/compliance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of prior experience in a cash handling/service oriented role required.
• 6+ months as a MSS I or teller at Golden 1 or another financial institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes and audits financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
• Provides Golden 1 services to member, including cashier’s checks, money orders, savings bonds, wire transfers and debit card issuance.
• Assesses members’ needs while processing transactions.
• Identifies opportunities to help members relative to Golden 1 products or services and documents in EnAct system.
• Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to management and Financial Investigations dept., per procedures to prevent loss.
• Assists in ATM and Teller Cash Dispenser Unit operations.
• Supports MSS III and above with open/close responsibilities as needed.
• Activates alarm.
• Verifies signature cards in ECM.
• Check acceptance approval within assigned limits.
• Maintains confidentiality of member/credit union information.
• Keeps knowledge of Golden 1 products/services and branch policies.
• Performs additional branch operations duties (TCR, SBO, Safe deposit box) as needed.
• Opens deposit and specialty accounts (e.g., Roth IRA) and identifies members’ financial service needs.
• Mentors MSSIs.
• Engages in consultative dialogue with members and documents in EnAct.
• Enrolls members in Golden 1 channels (online, mobile, etc.).
• Refer lending needs to MSS III or business partner.
• Complies with state/federal laws and regulations (bank secrecy/AML).
