Job summary

Channel Islands YMCA is seeking a dedicated Member Engagement Specialist to welcome and assist members at the front desk, promote memberships, and support program enrollment. You will conduct tours and interviews with prospective members to grow enrollments, manage retention reports, and ensure smooth check-in and cash handling procedures.

A strong focus on customer service and teamwork within the YMCA program will be essential.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Complete all branch and position trainings within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews and facility tours to promote new memberships.
• Engage members and monitor recruitment and retention tracking and reporting.
• Identify, track and follow-up with prospective members via promotions and reports.
• Generate new prospective members through collaboration with Program Coordinator/Director.
• Handle new memberships and monthly fee payments promptly and professionally.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with program enrollment.
• Perform member relations duties including handling complaints and inquiries.
• Follow check-in, service procedures, and cash handling requirements.
• Maintain a neat, organized Service Desk and tidy lobby area.
