Job summary

Homestead Healthcare in Dearborn is hiring as a caregiver to provide physical and emotional support to residents at a senior living facility. You will assist with daily activities, maintain a clean environment, complete charting, and communicate with families and staff while upholding safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
• Must be 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and weekend availability are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with care needs including dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting.
• Engage residents and encourage involvement within the community.
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment including light housekeeping.
• Complete required documents and charting.
• Communicate professionally with families, support services and coworkers.
• Assist other team members with duties and follow safety and infection control procedures.

• Assisting with care needs, specifically but not limited to dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting


• Engage the residents, encouraging involvement within the community


• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping


• Assess for change in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor


• Complete all required documents and charting


• Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services and coworkers


• Assist other team members with their duties


• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures


• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
