Job summary

Homestead Health Care, based near Dearborn, MI, is hiringPrivate Duty caregivers with 4–12 hour shifts. The Detroit Free Press ranked Homestead as a TOP WORKPLACE. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with full-time to part-time options and ongoing training and growth opportunities.

Current client requires evening hours (6:30 PM–10:30 PM). Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily living activities, transfers, meals, and companionship while maintaining safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver's License/Insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel max of 25 miles.
• Weekend Availability.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer devices (e.g., Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, walking).
• Evaluate health changes and inform healthcare team as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of environment (including light housekeeping).
• Use/clean devices like catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies.
• Assess changes and communicate to supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule, assist with repositioning.
• Transport client to doctor visits or shopping.
• Complete required documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship for the client.
• Follow Homestead policies and procedures.

Our current client is looking for assistance from 630pm-1030pm.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board


• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking


• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed


• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping

• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor


• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities


• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning

• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals


• Provide companionship for the client


• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements
