Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Livonia, MI is hiring Private Duty caregivers in the surrounding area. You will support elderly clients with physical and emotional needs, building connections, and providing companionship.

We start at $18.00 per hour and offer flexible schedules from full-time to part-time. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transfers, medication oversight, and documenting care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Driver License and auto insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and gait belts.
• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, mobility).
• Evaluate health changes and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain cleanliness and assist with light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and plan meaningful activities.
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Travel Max of 25miles
• Weekend Availability
