Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Nursing Attendant for MedSurg Float Nights to join our team in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. You will assist with direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role involves admission/discharge support, rounds, basic treatments, patient assistance with meals, hygiene, and mobility, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered care and collaboration with the health care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or 6 months of relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission/transfer/discharge and orient patients.
• Conduct patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort and safety.
• Prepare bedside units and assist with meals and feeding.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and transporting patients.
• Support RN with basic treatments and specimen collection.
• Report changes to the RN and maintain a safe environment.
