Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is seeking a full-time Electrician to manage operation and maintenance of building systems across a 300,000 sq ft facility. The role supports the Chief Engineer, assigns work, and ensures reliable power, HVAC, and data center operations.

Key duties include supervising contractors, operating central plant equipment, enforcing safety programs, and responding to emergencies after hours.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and operating large building systems (300,000 sq ft).
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and enforce them.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate and supervise building systems integration and completion.
  • Monitor third-party contractors and in-house staff for performance.
  • Oversee operations with Chief Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Operate and maintain central plant areas and energy management system (EMCS).
  • Maintain safety, safety equipment, and inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Respond to tenant/customer requests in a consultative manner.
  • Prepare incident summaries on emergencies.

ICMS is looking for a full-time state experienced Electrician who will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems. In tandem with the Chief Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for assigning work and scheduling staff. In-depth knowledge of emergency power systems and data center layouts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Direct, coordinate and exercise functional responsibility for planning, organizing and controlling the integration and completion of building systems through those they are responsible for
  • Monitor and supervise the ongoing work by third party contractors and in-house personnel to ensure optimal performance
  • Work with the Chief Engineer or Project Manager in overseeing the complete operations of the building
  • Operate and maintain the central plant areas and any energy management system
  • Maintain building support, safety, and security of equipment by hosting regular meetings with staff
  • Respond to customer requests in a helpful and consultative manner
  • Establish and maintain inventories of tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for daily maintenance
  • Engage discusses and comes up with solutions to tenant/customer challenges
  • Responsible for assisting the Operator with daily operations procedures in the central plant
  • Assist in maintaining and repairing all machinery as assigned
  • Responsible for assisting the Operators with maintaining all safety equipment at the central plant
  • Perform preventive maintenance work orders
  • Responsible for making after-hours rounds and mechanical equipment room to assess the functionality of the equipment and work that has been completed
  • Assist the Operators in maintaining the clean and safe appearance of the central plant and all machinery contained within it
  • Responsible for after-hours emergencies of HVAC, fire alarm, electrical and plumbing issues that may arise in the building
  • Work on minor construction project
  • Prepare incident summaries on emergencies
  • Comply with all applicable Company policies regarding health, safety, and environmental compliance and information protection.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in performing maintenance and operations of building size of 300,000 square feet
  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and associated systems employing computer/software-based monitoring and control devices
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to repair building systems that are controlled by a central Energy Management Control System (EMCS)
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade
  • Must be able at times to work independently with little or no supervision.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to pass an extensive background analysis
  • Experience working in a government facility
  • Ability to read blueprint diagrams
  • Previous experience in developing and managing to a budget
  • Ability to use computer software to develop and track the progress of tasks; specifically, Excel, Word, email, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 50 pounds of materials.
  • The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • May be required to work overtime, other shifts, or on-call as needed or scheduled
  • Responsible for 24/7, weekends, and holiday support
  • Emergency overtime may be required
  • Works indoors and outdoors on elevated structures and in cramped areas.

Pay Rate: $43.68/hour plus H&W benefits up to $5.09/hour
