Job summary

MBK Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician to document, deliver and administer medicines to residents per physician orders. The role requires attention to regulatory rules, accuracy in documentation, and superior customer service within a team-focused environment.

The position involves assisting residents with daily medications, caring tasks, and participating in safety checks, narcotic counts, and coordinated communication with pharmacies and physicians.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Experience handling medications preferred but on the job training is available for candidates with the right attitude and desire
• Background clearances as required by government regulations
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions
• Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
• Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance at all times

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned
• Observe, verify and document medication administration
• Notify supervisor if medication is not administered as directed
• Maintain confidential records on resident medication and care
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician
• Prepare medications for distribution up to 24 hours in advance
• Participate in narcotic counts and report discrepancies
• Support caregivers and assist with daily living activities as needed
• Respond to resident alerts and emergencies promptly
• Ensure resident safety and comfort at all times
