Baywood Court in Castro Valley, CA is seeking a Casual/on-call Medication Technician for Sundays and Mondays, 10:45pm–7:15am, with shifts on weekends as required. Pay ranges from $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, with eligibility for experience-based increases.

The role requires adherence to Title 22 RCFE Regulations, medication handling, MAR transcription, and compliance activities. Employment includes benefits and background checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be able to write and document in the ADL forms.
• Current First Aid Certification - must have prior to on-floor training.

Responsibilities

• Receive medications from family, pharmacy or resident.
• Transcribe each physician’s medication order onto MAR correctly.
• Ensure all PRN orders are written by physician according to Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
• Medications are poured/passed, recorded, reordered, centrally stored, discontinued and/or destroyed in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations.

Position available for a Casual/on-call (Part-time) Medication Technician for Sundays and Mondays: 10:45pm - 7:15am

Pay starts at $23.00 per hour through $26.00 per hour for 10 or more years of experience.

We are a 24/7 facility therefore one must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. All applicants are required to complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice. The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Aware of the Title 22 RCFE Regulations
• Receive medications from family, pharmacy or resident.
• Ensure that each medication has a signed physician’s order.
• Transcribe each physician’s medication order onto MAR (Medication Assistance Record) correctly.
• Ensure that all PRN orders are written by physician according to Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
• Ensure that all pharmacy labels are written in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
• Medications are poured/passed, recorded, reordered, centrally stored, discontinued and/or destroyed in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
• Caregiver duties: light housekeeping, dressing/bathing/assisting with restroom, taking from dining room to apartment.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to write and document in the ADL forms
• Current First Aid Certification - must have prior to on-floor training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair, and/or shower chair, pushing unassisted
• Must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 pounds unassisted or with assistance using mechanical lift equipment.
• May be exposed to verbal and physical abuse by residents.
