Job summary

Baywood Court in Castro Valley, CA is seeking a Full Time Medication Technician/Caregiver for a day shift with weekend availability. You will handle medication administration, assist residents with daily living activities, and work primarily as a Caregiver.

The role requires knowledge of Title 22 RCFE regulations, ability to transcribe orders to MAR, and strict adherence to safety and drug-screening processes. Weekend and holiday coverage is required; benefits include PTO and health insurance.

Responsibilities

• Aware of the Title 22 RCFE Regulations
• Receive medications from family, pharmacy or resident
• Ensure that each medication has a signed physician’s order
• Transcribe each physician’s medication order onto MAR (Medication Assistance Record) correctly
• Ensure that all PRN orders are written by physician according to Title 22 RCFE Regulations
• Ensure that all pharmacy labels are written in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations
• Medications are poured/passed, recorded, reordered, centrally stored, discontinued and/or destroyed in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations
• Caregiver duties: light housekeeping, dressing/bathing/assisting with restroom, taking from dining room to apartment. Majority of hours worked will be as a Caregiver.

Position available for Full Time Medication Technician/Caregiver (10:00am - 6:30pm - dates TBD) with an open schedule to work all shifts. Must be available weekends. Majority of the position will be working as a CAREGIVER Must have open availability to work weekends - no exceptions.

Pay starts at $23.00 per hour through $26.00 per hour for 10 or more years of experience.

We are a 24/7 facility therefore one must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. All applicants are required to complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice. The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair, and/or shower chair, pushing unassisted
• Must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 pounds unassisted or with assistance using mechanical lift equipment.
• May be exposed to verbal and physical abuse by residents.
