Job summary

Saint Therese in Monroe, MI is seeking a part-time Medication Technician to join our caring team. The role includes evening and overnight shifts from 6:00 p.m.

to 6:30 a.m., with a schedule of 72 hours per two-week pay period and six 12-hour shifts per two weeks, including weekend and holiday rotation. You will safely administer prescribed medications, document administration, monitor for side effects, and record vital signs, supporting residents with independence and dignity.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as Med Tech or CNA/Nurse Aide preferred.
  • Experience in Assisted Living or memory care.
  • Med Tech training program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely administer prescribed medications, including oral meds and subcutaneous insulin when trained and authorized.
  • Assist residents with medication administration while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Accurately document medication administration, including PRN use, effectiveness, and follow-up interventions.
  • Obtain and record vital signs as needed to assess resident response to medications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records under supervision.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, supporting care needs.
  • Foster a respectful, compassionate environment for residents, families, and team members.

Currently Available Schedules and Shifts:

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) required if formal training has not been completed
  • Previous experience as a CENA or Nurse Aide required
  • Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, or direct care healthcare facility
Education Preferred
  • Successful completion of an approved Medication Technician (Med Tech) training program preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Resident-centered approach with awareness and sensitivity to individual needs and abilities
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of electronic charting systems and basic computer applications
  • Dependability and ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and transferring residents
  • Professional maturity and composure in a fast-paced care environment
