Job summary

Saint Therese in Monroe, MI is seeking a Part-Time Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join a compassionate care team. The role includes evening to midnight shifts (6:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.), 72 hours per two-week pay period, and six 12-hour shifts per two-week period.

You’ll administer medications, assist residents, and document care while ensuring safety and dignity. Qualifications include prior Med Tech or CENA/Nurse Aide experience and completion of a Med Tech training program if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as Med Tech or similar role in healthcare; formal training not required.
• Experience as CENA or Nurse Aide in assisted living or memory care.
• Completion of an approved Med Tech training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer prescribed medications per physician orders and policy.
• Assist residents with medication administration and monitor for side effects.
• Document medication administration, PRN use, and follow-up interventions.
• Record vital signs to assess resident responses to medications.
• Maintain accurate medical records under supervision.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests; support care needs.
• Foster a respectful, compassionate environment for residents and families.

The Difference You'll Make

• Safely administer prescribed medications, including oral medications and, when trained and authorized, subcutaneous insulin, in accordance with physician orders and community policy
• Assist residents with medication administration while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions
• Accurately document medication administration, including PRN use, effectiveness, and any follow-up interventions
• Obtain and record vital signs as needed to assess resident response to medications
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records under appropriate supervision
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, supporting overall care needs
• Foster a respectful, compassionate environment for residents, families, and team members

Experience Required:

• Previous experience as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) required if formal training has not been completed
• Previous experience as a CENA or Nurse Aide required
• Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, or direct care healthcare facility

Education Preferred:

• Successful completion of an approved Medication Technician (Med Tech) training program preferred
