Job Description

The Medication Technician/Resident Assistant administers resident medication or assists residents with self-administration of medication and coordinates treatments. Provides assistance with activities of daily living while encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s well-being across physical, social, cultural, and intellectual domains.

Pay: $19-$21/hr

Availability: Wednesday-Saturday NOC Shift

Responsibilities
  1. Observe residents for changes in condition and report to Care Services Director, Resident Care Coordinator (RCC)/Dementia Care Coordinator (DCC), or physician.
  2. Assist residents with requests or find appropriate assistance.
  3. Learn resident preferences to provide excellent service, exceed expectations, and enhance satisfaction.
  4. Document and report condition changes using company forms.
  5. Set up and assist with medications, verify orders, and communicate concerns.
  6. Track medications, reorder as needed, and document discontinued medications.
  7. Monitor vital signs, weight, diabetic testing, and assist with activities like ambulation.
  8. Follow policies on medication destruction and documentation.
  9. Understand medical abbreviations and terms related to medication administration.
  10. Support resident wellness programs and promote dignity and safety.
  11. Assist fellow resident assistants and communicate needs effectively.
  12. Manage supplies and communicate needs to supervisors.
  13. Work collaboratively within the team and community.
  14. Maintain high standards of appearance and professionalism.
  15. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
  16. Ensure compliance with regulations and report issues promptly.
  17. Support continuous improvement and adhere to all standards and laws.
  18. Understand and support community sales processes.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Success
  • Bring a positive attitude daily.

  • High school diploma required.
  • Nursing Assistant course (state-approved, if required).
Additional Requirements/Certifications
  • Must be 21+ years old or meet state requirements.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Completed medication assistance training/certification.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and licensing standards.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
