As a part of the Telecare Family, La Paz is a 148 bed Gero-Psychiatric center which serves adults 55 and older.

Shifts Available:

• Full Time: Sunday - Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Expected starting wage range $21-$24.00/hour

We pay differentials!! Weekend Shift differentials for hourly staff (5% for Weekend AM Shift, 11% for Weekend PM Shift, 15% for Weekend Overnight Shift)

Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Shift differentials for hourly staff (6% for PM Shift, 10% for Overnight Shift). Weekend Shift differentials for hourly staff (5% for Weekend AM Shift, 11% for Weekend PM Shift, 15% for Weekend Overnight Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician performs tasks that involve the facility physical plant, equipment, and grounds maintenance. These duties encompass a variety of carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and environmental services assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
• Performs electrical tasks such as checking and maintaining temperature logs, adjusting thermostats, and checking exit and facility lights.
• Completes all sheet rock repairs, including sanding and painting within one week of damage.
• Performs security duties, as assigned.
• Responds to work requisitions, completes scheduled preventative maintenance, and disposes of trash and infectious waste as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Two (2) years of experience in building maintenance or related fields.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• At least 18 years old.
• CPR, CPI, and First Aid certification on or within 60 days of employment, maintained throughout employment.
• Successful completion of background checks, physical exam, and other regulatory requirements.

Preferred:

• Experience in a healthcare setting.

Skills

• Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, heating, and air conditioning repair.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; willingness to work with individuals with mental illness.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, push, pull, lift up to 75 pounds, and perform manual tasks including driving and exposure to hazardous materials.
