Job summary

Westmont of La Mesa, part of Westmont Living, seeks a compassionate MED TECH to join our assisted living and memory care team. You will support residents with medication administration under RN oversight, while maintaining accurate MAR documentation in a warm, homelike community.

Responsibilities

• Perform medication setup and assist residents with the Medication Program.
• Record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and the RN/RSD.
• Document medication assistance on MARs immediately after administration; ensure MARs have no blanks; note PRN reasons and effectiveness.

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications.
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
  • Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
  • Leaves no blanks on MARs
  • Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test.
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
