Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Transitions of Care Services in Acute Care. The role supports area-specific pharmaceutical workflows, patient coordination, and documentation across care teams.

The technician will utilize standard processes, adhere to policies, and help maintain accurate records. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with NC technicians encouraged to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NC technicians may need an Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology.
• Typically requires 3 years of healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or medical background.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy; CPhT or ExCPT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work per standard processes and policies.
• Acts as an expert with equipment and technology in the area.
• Solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Ensures documents and records are accurate and timely.
• Supports communication with patients and care teams.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Participates in site or system specialized work teams and committees.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Keeps current with changes and shares best practices with leadership.
• Maintains knowledge and skills; contributes to education of others.
