Qualifications

• Registration/Licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements
• Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or ExCPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; in NC, Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology for validating responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work following standard processes and policies
• Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in the specialized area
• Solves technical issues in the area as they arise
• Keeps documents and records accurate and timely
• Assists communication with patients and care team
• Identifies quality improvements to ensure safe, effective patient care
• Supports operational changes and site/system standardization
• Participates in site or system work teams and committees
• Complies with regulatory standards
• Keeps knowledge updated and collaborates with leadership to adopt best practices
