Job summary

Good Samaritan Canistota is seeking a Medication Assistant to deliver resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will administer medications, monitor vitals, and help with daily activities, transfers, and mobility while promoting a positive dining experience for residents.

This PRN/part-time role offers shift differentials, potential advancement, and access to education assistance within a respected nonprofit elder-care environment

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred.
Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Annual continuing education credits required per state rules.
State CMA/CNA certification requirements vary by state and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
Record vital signs and document care outcomes and responses.
Assist with transfers, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises.
Support dining, hydration, and wellness activities; assist with housekeeping and laundry as needed.
